New Hope Christian School’s Elementary School is housed at New Hope Leeward’s Kapolei campus. The elementary campus has a welcoming, family feel where it is obvious as soon as you set foot on campus that children are happy and engaged in learning. The elementary students start each morning with worship and students and teachers agree that it is a great way to start their day focusing on the Lord. The elementary uses the Abeka curriculum for Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Abeka is a Christ-centered curriculum that helps build a strong academic and spiritual foundation for our students. The small class sizes allow for teachers to better focus on each student and his/her academic needs.
On Fridays, students look forward to a special resource schedule. The day begins with chapel. Following chapel, students join their ohana groups which consist of multi-age groups that rotate between resource classes. These classes have included: music, drama, Japanese, art, technology, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Following ohana groups, students return to their homeroom for lunch and an afternoon PE class.
The elementary school day begins at 8:00am and ends at 3:00pm. Early care is available beginning at 6:30am for a monthly fee*. Students, not utilizing early care, may arrive on campus beginning at 7:30am. After care is also available at the end of the school day at 3:00pm until 5:30pm for a monthly fee*.
